On Wednesday, April 6, students from the Food Justice program held their 9th annual hunger banquet. The revised program engaged more than 100 attendees, ages 5-75 years old, in discussion about poverty, global inequality and food insecurity. Local restaurants fed participants who donated non-perishable food as the 'price' of admission. All food was delivered that night to the Brookline Food Pantry which reports high demand lately. Student leaders also raised nearly $300 for the Food Pantry through sales of raffle tickets. Prizes were donated by the Coolidge Corner Theater, Brookline Booksmith, The Red Sox and other Brookline merchants. Thanks to everyone for their support.
