Transforming yourself, your worldview and how you act in the world as a solid foundation to work for justice
Storytelling for social justice transmits the knowledge, culture, triumphs, pain and dreams of subjugated and oppressed communities whose voices are filtered, silenced or appropriated by those in power. Stories give us strength and inspiration to make change; they create an opportunity to make a personal and passionate connection to an issue or community. Stories humanize us and thus we can build bonds of solidarity across community. Social Justice advocates must seek out, listen to and document the stories of subjugated people or systems of injustice: Simply documenting and telling stories of subjugation can challenge a dominant narrative.
