Community Organizing field trip
Community Organizing is the process whereby people organize around a common cause to struggle for meaningful change and empower themselves in the process. It's a process that builds leadership from within and aims to transform power relationships and strengthen the bonds among people who are less powerful against entrenched power and institutions. The purpose of this field trip to learn how to initiate a campaign for political change. The Civil Rights movement in the South owes its successes to community organizing, a strategic, well-planned, determined and long-term process.
