Vision

There is enough food to feed the planet, yet people are hungry. There is an abundance of knowledge about how to produce good food, yet people are mal- or poorly nourished.  Inequality and the over-commodification of food have left many of us disconnected from food production and without access to healthy food.  We are working towards building a school community that is knowledgable about food systems, is nourished by a healthy diet and is active in reducing hunger.  Future BHS students will produce food in the BHS community garden and greenhouse year round and support local people in need of good food with what we grow.  The garden and greenhouse will serve as the focal point in food justice education and community partnerships.

Mission

We are a student-run organization that aims to educate the Brookline High School community about the economic, environmental and social forces that shape what we eat and the impact of how we eat. Our projects include:
  • Food Drives for the Brookline Food Pantry
  • Annual Hunger Banquet
  • Community Garden and Greenhouse Project
  • Food Education and Empowerment
